Karasuno High School is a high school located in Miyagi Prefecture where Hinata Shoyo and Tobio Kageyama attend. Their volleyball club many years ago was famous and once went to nationals under the guidance of coach Ikkei Ukai and the attack on the “Little Giant”. After this first success, Karasuno did not repeat the feat and thus failed to pass the prefecture preliminaries in future tournaments and was given the nickname “the declining champions” or “The ravens without wings”.
